Coaching Approach
Generally, our coaches use a number of important psychological principles and applications in their coaching dialogue and engagement with the coachee. Many of our coaches therefore have an eclectic approach and draw from a large pool of knowledge. Here are some of the psychological principles that they would draw from, however while not being limited to them only:
- How our past intrudes into our present
- Transactional analysis (TA)
- Our divided selves
- Reframing: Altering our perception of reality
- Freud’s concept of defence mechanisms
- Jung’s concept of our shadow side
- Reward and punishment theory
- Self-fulfilling prophecy
- The Yerkes-Dodson Law: Their implications for the Way we Live our Lives
- Steven Covey’s “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”
- Being more Emotionally Intelligent
